In the backstory/AU I’ve constructed for Penny, some of her dynamics with characters are different, or some events happened in different ways. I’m never going to assume these in a thread without discussing it first, and am perfectly happy to write her having experienced exactly the same things as Peter Parker does in the MCU canon. Generally speaking, though, this is what’s in the back of my mind:

The broad strokes of Penny’s life up through the events of Civil War are essentially the same: she was raised by her aunt and uncle, attended the Stark Expo as a kid, and was bitten by a radioactive spider. Uncle Ben is killed, she wears a mask and becomes a vigilante, vaguely known as “the Spider-Girl from Youtube.” Penny idolizes superheroes and, much like in canon, Iron Man is her favorite. However, as a budding woman in STEM, Pepper Potts is her hero.

When May Parker opens the door of the apartment to find Tony Stark there, telling her about an internship that Penny had been selected for, she does not invite him in, but sees a billionaire acting weird about her teenage niece, and says they’ll get in contact later. Tony reaches out to Pepper, who flat-out refuses to enlist a teenager into a complicated political issue and Tony’s issue with Steve, and as a result, Penny is not involved in the airport fight in Germany. (The further events of the movie happen more or less the same).

Pepper does see the need in a young superheroine needing guidance, and contacts May and Penny - through the proper channels - about an actual internship. Spider-Girl is a vigilante partially funded and supported by Stark Industries, with technology designed by Tony Stark, while Penny Potts has an internship with Stark Industries, under the watchful eye of Pepper Potts.

The events of Homecoming happen more or less as normal, with a few minor alterations. Penny still jumps into situations without thinking of the repercussions, leading Tony (who manages her tech) to take away her suit, and Pepper (who is furious/worried) to put a ban on her vigilante activities, as well to place her internship on a brief suspension until after the move. Happy doesn’t treat Penny as frostily as he does in canon. Adrian Toomes is a little more hesitant to fight her, drawing clear comparisons between Penny and Liz, but, blinded by his greed, still does.

Infinity War/Endgame are about the same I guess, but I hate those movies, so I don’t really care.

Assume that FFH is also roughly the same, with a phone call or two from Pepper scattered in there.

Canon Points I’m Interested In:
-Vaguely around the events of Homecoming, with Penny at Midtown Tech, making a name as Spider-Girl, and dealing with the Potts Internship.
-Handwave handwave handwave, Penny’s in college (on a Stark Industries scholarship, or even with Pepper/Tony paying for room and board), being Spider-Girl, dealing with the Potts Internship.
-Post-FFH, dealing with the repercussions of Penny being outed as Spider-Girl (esp dealing with the gender dynamics here, there’s a lot to work with)
-Multiverse shenanigans of all sort, especially with Penny being transported into the canon MCU around the events of No Way Home.
-Pretty much any AU, fusion, mashup, or other canonfuckery you throw at me. Canon is an à la carte restaurant, and I’m perfectly happy to cherrypick the parts of canon we like.

-The Body Horror AU. The Bite gave her strength, sure, and great reflexes, and she can crawl up walls. But there are other things, too. Her scalp and elbows are feeling more like a carapace; her eyes are starting to split; her joints really don't bend right anymore. And while Penny can generate her own webbing fluid now (which is handy, if super gross), there's the whole thing where she's spitting up acid to dissolve her food. And there's more and more of the Spider coming out... An AU where Penny's mutating into a spider-human hybrid, and trying to deal.
-The Red Room AU. The Spider-Girl made a buzz on Youtube and in some rumors for a few weeks, but she stopped showing up, and interest waned. Just another would-be vigilante. When Penny Parker vanished, nobody thought to make the connection. A year later, a new type of Black Widow made her first kill: stronger, faster, and able to climb up walls. An AU where Penny gets pinged by the Red Room, captured, and now has all of the trauma.
